Former Governor of Osun State and ex-Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has offered a rare personal reflection on his character, revealing how being naturally “stubborn and impatient” has influenced both his marriage and his long career in public governance.

Speaking during a public engagement, the veteran politician acknowledged that his unyielding determination and low tolerance for delay are traits that define him at home and in public office.

According to Aregbesola, living with and managing his personality requires understanding, noting that his insistence on strict standards and high efficiency has often tested relationships with family, political associates, and the public alike.

He explained that his impatience is driven by a deep-seated demand for prompt results, whether managing family commitments or executing complex government policies.

While acknowledging that his rigid adherence to discipline is sometimes misunderstood as harshness, Aregbesola maintained that his actions have always been guided by good intentions and a desire to deliver meaningful outcomes.

Reflecting on governance and personal relationships, the former governor noted that standing firm on principles often demands difficult decisions that attract criticism.

He advised public figures to remain true to their core values and focus on long-term impact rather than short-term popularity, emphasizing that character ultimately determines a person’s legacy both at home and in the public eye.
