Popular Nollywood actress and politician, Tonto Dikeh, has taken a new step in her faith journey with the launch of an interdenominational Christian gathering, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, in Abuja.

The actress, who has in recent times become increasingly vocal about her Christian faith and spiritual experiences, launched the ministry as a platform for believers seeking deeper fellowship, prayer and spiritual renewal. Blueprint reports

The development has generated widespread reactions, particularly because of Dikeh’s long-standing career in the Nigerian entertainment industry and her growing involvement in religious activities.

However, Dikeh clarified that the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle should not be viewed as a conventional church or a new denomination.

According to her, the platform is an intense interdenominational Christian fellowship and spiritual home designed to bring believers together irrespective of their denominational backgrounds.

Not a conventional church

Dikeh explained that the vision behind the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle goes beyond establishing another denominational church.

She said the gathering would provide an environment where Christians could come together for prayer, revival and other activities aimed at strengthening their relationship with God.

The fellowship is also expected to focus on healing, deliverance, evangelism and what she described as Kingdom advancement.

By describing the gathering as interdenominational, Dikeh appears to be positioning the platform as one that would accommodate Christians from different church traditions and backgrounds.

The initiative is expected to add to the growing number of faith-based gatherings and revival movements attracting young Nigerians and public figures across the country.

Abuja hosts new fellowship

The launch was held at the Omini Grand Hotel, formerly known as Alexis Hotel, in the Jabi area of Abuja.

The event marked the formal beginning of Dikeh’s latest spiritual initiative and signalled what could become a more prominent role for the actress in Christian ministry and evangelism.

Dikeh’s decision to launch the fellowship did not come entirely as a surprise to many of her followers, having openly shared aspects of her Christian journey in recent years.

Her growing public association with Christian activities has seen her participate actively in faith-based programmes and engage in conversations about spirituality, personal transformation and the role of faith in everyday life.

Journey into spiritual ministry

The launch of the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle also follows Dikeh’s prominent association with Pastor Jerry Eze’s Streams of Joy International and the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations, NSPPD, community.

The actress has on several occasions publicly expressed her appreciation for her spiritual journey and the role of prayer in her life.

Towards the end of 2025, Dikeh attracted considerable public attention after sharing a testimony about her personal faith journey and experiences which she said reflected a major transformation in her life.

The testimony sparked conversations among fans and other members of the public, with many taking interest in her increasing commitment to Christian activities.

Her latest move appears to represent a further development in that journey, as she now takes a more active role in convening a spiritual gathering with a defined vision and purpose.

From entertainment to faith platform

Dikeh is one of Nollywood’s most recognisable personalities, having built a successful career as an actress before expanding into other areas, including politics, philanthropy and public advocacy.

Over the years, she has remained a major figure in Nigeria’s entertainment space, often attracting public attention for her outspoken personality and active engagement on social issues.

Her decision to launch a Christian fellowship therefore represents another major chapter in a public life that has continued to evolve beyond acting.

The development also reflects a broader trend of entertainers and other public figures using their platforms to openly express their religious convictions and participate in faith-based initiatives.

For Dikeh, the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle could become a significant part of her public identity as she combines her existing career and public engagements with a growing commitment to spiritual ministry.

Focus on revival, evangelism

The objectives outlined for the fellowship indicate that prayer and spiritual renewal will form the core of its activities.

The platform is expected to promote revival programmes, evangelism and activities intended to encourage Christians to strengthen their faith.

Healing and deliverance are also listed among the key areas of focus, alongside efforts aimed at advancing Christian values and fostering unity among believers.

The interdenominational nature of the gathering could also enable participants from different churches to worship and pray together without necessarily leaving their individual denominations.

New chapter for actress

With the official launch of the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle, Dikeh has opened a new chapter in her public and spiritual journey.

While it remains to be seen how the fellowship will develop in the coming months, the initiative has already drawn attention because of the actress’ profile and her large following across entertainment, politics and social media.

For now, Dikeh’s message is clear: the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle is not being presented as a traditional denomination, but as a spiritual gathering centred on prayer, revival, healing, deliverance, evangelism and Kingdom advancement.

As activities begin, attention will be on how the actress and her team build the fellowship and whether it grows into a major interdenominational Christian movement in the Federal Capital Territory and beyond.
