A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has faulted the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for criticising Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Vice Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that it portrays him as an ingrate.

New Telegraph recalls that Wike said Amaechi’s choice as ADC Vice Presidential candidate would work against former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential flagbearer in the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

Reacting to Wike’s claims, the ADC chieftain, however, said that Amaechi, as a tested and trusted democrat and leader, boasts of his goodwill, charisma and a lot to offer to the ADC Presidential ticket.

Eze noted that Amaechi has respect for the rule of law, upholds the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and has the required exposure and experience to serve as Nigeria’s Vice President.

Eze, in a statement, said that Wike, having recognised the danger posed by the Abubakar-Amaechi joint ticket for President Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), decided to attack the former Minister of Transportation.

“Wike has suddenly developed cold feet; he is afraid and knows what the name Amaechi stands for in Nigeria’s contemporary politics. He is right to be worried because Amaechi is coming,” he said.

Eze, who described Wike as a man who arrogates to himself a demi-god status in every political space he finds himself, urged Nigerians to remain resolute in their decision to oust Tinubu from office for his alleged performance in office.

“If Amaechi will not add electoral and triumphant value to the ADC’s quest to unseat Tinubu, why then is Wike shivering and casting aspersions on the person of his former boss, Amaechi, Eze asked.

“Wike knows that the Abubakar-Amaechi joint ticket portends great danger for the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and his bunch of clueless kitchen cabinet who have failed Nigerians.

“If Amaechi will not add electoral and triumphant value to the ADC’s quest to unseat Tinubu, why then is Wike shivering and casting aspersions on the person of his former boss, Amaechi, Eze asked.

“Nigerians of sane mind, who have watched the dangerous type of politics Wike plays. You personify ingratitude. You see yourself as Mr. know-it-all; that’s your greatest undoing. When a man cares less about God’s grace and decides to see himself as a demi-god, one day he will meet his Waterloo,” Eze stated.

He added: “Ordinarily, I don’t have any business joining issues with a drunken master and his beer parlour talks. Refined politicians, gentlemen and democrats talk about issues as they relate to genuine democratic governance and not discuss personalities.

“If Wike has never dropped Amaechi’s name in any of his roadside talk shows, then he has not started.

“Wike goes to book launches and colloquia. I dare him to author his biography or even commission someone to write. He cannot do so because of the bitterness and shame of mentioning Amaechi’s name and the role he played in his political career therein, Chief Eze pointed out.

“Amaechi is an epitome of integrity and honesty. He is a man of his word, very loyal, transparent, and accountable for decisions and actions he takes. Above all, he is a team player.”
