Omotola Jalade Reveals ‘Mother’s Love’ Grossed Over N100m, Donates N22.3m To NGO

Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has revealed that her film, Mother’s Love, grossed more than N100 million at the box office, with about N22.3 million eventually accruing to her production company, RedHot Concepts, after deductions.

Speaking about the film’s box-office performance, Omotola explained that the N22.3 million represented the amount that remained for the producers after cinema and distribution-related deductions.

The actress further disclosed that the entire N22.3 million received by RedHot Concepts was donated to Slum2School Africa, in line with the production company’s commitment to donate 100 per cent of the film’s proceeds to the non-governmental organisation.

According to her, the funds are intended to support Slum2School Africa’s efforts to provide educational opportunities for children in underserved communities.

Omotola’s disclosure highlights the difference between a film’s reported box-office gross and the actual amount eventually received by its producers after cinema, distribution and other industry-related deductions.

The actress and filmmaker had committed the proceeds from Mother’s Love to supporting education initiatives through Slum2School Africa.
