Contrary to recent media reports claiming that missing Nigerian native Philip Ifeanyi Elobuike has been safely reunited with his family, his relatives and U.S.-based kinsmen have issued an urgent clarify-and-search notice, confirming that he remains missing and actively needs public assistance to be located.

Philip Ifeanyi Elobuike hails from Eziama Village, Ebe, in the Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria. He originally arrived in the United States around 2004, initially residing in the Los Angeles, California area before moving to Las Vegas, Nevada, and eventually settling in Dallas, Texas.
For nearly two decades, Elobuike remained highly connected with his family members in Nigeria and maintained an active presence on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. However, all direct contact with his family unexpectedly ceased around 2024.

A ray of hope emerged on August 11, 2026, when a video posted on social media by a Good Samaritan showed Elobuike wandering the streets of Dallas in extreme heat, hopping between public buses to find shade.

In the video, he clearly identified himself and named his mother, Evelyn Elobuike, and his sister, Josephine Elobuike. While the clip offered immense relief by confirming he was alive, premature news reports quickly published inaccurate headlines stating he had already been brought home safely.

Members of the local Nigerian diaspora and kinsmen from Enugu State spent the entirety of August 12, 2026, searching across bus routes, transit stations, and neighborhoods in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately, he has not yet been physically secured or brought to safety.
His family is appealing to all residents, commuters, and business owners in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to remain vigilant.
