The Caleb Danladi Foundation has marked the 2026 International Youth Day by training 45 youths and students in digital literacy in Ketti community, Abuja.


The initiative, organised as part of the foundation’s youth empowerment programme, focused on equipping young people in the underserved community with practical digital skills that could improve their access to education, employment, entrepreneurship and other opportunities in the digital economy.In a statement by the founder of the foundation, Caleb Danladi said taking the programme to Ketti was deliberate, adding  that young people in rural and underserved communities must not be left behind as technology continues to reshape society.

He said digital literacy had moved beyond being an optional skill, describing it as increasingly important for young people seeking to participate meaningfully in education, employment and entrepreneurship.

“Our goal is to bridge the digital divide by bringing knowledge and opportunities closer to the grassroots. We want these young people to see technology not just as something they consume, but as a tool they can use to learn, create, innovate and build sustainable livelihoods,” he said.

Danladi said International Youth Day provided an opportunity to draw attention to the need for greater investment in young people, particularly those who may have limited access to technology and digital education.

He called on government agencies, private organisations, development partners and other stakeholders to support initiatives that expand digital education and skills development beyond major urban centers.
