The Kogi state government has commended the Henry Adetayo Foundation, led by Adebayo Mike Arayegbemi, for reconstructing Community Secondary School Oke Agi, in Mopamuro local government area, urging more private individuals and organisations to support the delivery of quality educational infrastructure across the state.
The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, gave the commendation Thursday during an inspection of the newly rebuilt facility. He described the project as a strong example of responsible citizenship and a strategic investment in the future of the community.
Fanwo noted that the state government was proud of the foundation’s intervention, which he said would significantly improve educational opportunities for students in Oke Agi and neighbouring communities.
He reiterated that the administration of Ahmed Usman Ododo allocates over 30 per cent of its expenditure to education, but added government alone cannot address all infrastructural gaps.
“This project is an example to others. Under Governor Ododo, we have remained honest in public communication and have never claimed that all schools in Kogi are in perfect condition. We are, however, making steady progress in rebuilding and remodelling our schools.
“We need more individuals like Adebayo to complement government efforts. Instead of highlighting the poor state of the school, he chose to rebuild it and create a model worthy of emulation,” he said.
