Former deputy governor of Sokoto state, Mukhtar Shehu Shagari, has commended the governor of Sokoto state, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu over what he described as a remarkable and far reaching transformation of the state through sustained interventions in education, agriculture, healthcare, religious affairs, social welfare, environmental sanitation and infrastructure development.
This was contained in a press statement issued and made available to newsmen in Sokoto Thursday by media assistant to the former minister, Comrade Musa Ubandawaki.
 He noted that the APC- led administration’s investment in education sector has left no one in doubt that the governor has came with zeal to bridge the gap which exist between the north and southern part of Nigeria
Shagari who was the former Minister of Water Resources during Obasanjo’s administration also noted that rehabilitation and upgrading of primary and post primary schools, provision of teaching and instructional materials were aimed to provide quality education and good investment for the future.
He said the administration of Governor Ahmed Aliyu had demonstrated a clear determination to change the fortunes of Sokoto state by implementing programmes and projects designed to improve the living conditions of the people and create a stronger foundation for sustainable development.
He added that the governor’s achievements are becoming increasingly visible across the state, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare delivery, agriculture, infrastructure, social intervention and environmental management.
