American actress Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles in the television series Heroes and Nashville, has died at the age of 36, according to media reports.
Her father, Alan Panettiere, confirmed her death in a statement to ABC News, describing her as an “incredible light” who brought joy to her family, friends and millions of fans.
He asked for privacy as the family comes to terms with the loss.

Details surrounding Panettiere’s death were not immediately disclosed. TMZ reported that an investigation into the circumstances of her death was ongoing.
Born in 1989, Panettiere began her acting career as a child and went on to establish herself in both television and film.
She gained widespread recognition for playing cheerleader Claire Bennet in Heroes and later starred as country music singer Juliette Barnes in Nashville.
Her film credits include Remember the Titans, Ice Princess, Scream 4 and Scream VI.
Panettiere also opened up about her personal struggles in her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, released in May. In the book, she discussed the pressures of growing up in the entertainment industry, as well as her experiences with addiction and recovery.
She also wrote about her strained relationship with her mother, who managed her career during her childhood and later criticised the memoir.
Panettiere’s death has prompted tributes from fans and colleagues, who have remembered her for her performances and lengthy career in the entertainment industry.
