GOV. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has congratulated his Osun counterpart, Gov. Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, stating “it is a victory for democracy and the teeming people of Osun”.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Ibadan by Dr Suleimon Olanrewaju, his Chief Press Secretary, Makinde celebrated Adeleke for reaping the reward for serving his people.
According to him, Adeleke served his people with committed through several achievements and delivery of good governance.
Makinde, who is the Vice Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, equally lauded the people of Osun for showing politicians where power lies by voting with firmness and courage.
He urged Adeleke to see his re-election as an encouragement to deliver more development to the state.
The Oyo governor equally commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
According to him, the off-cycle election is a litmus test for the 2027 general election.
He charged the commission not to let Nigerians down in the 2027 general election.(NAN)
