A coalition of eight political parties in Zamfara state have dissociated itself from a recent press conference held by what it described as a few members parading themselves as leaders of IPAC in the state.
Addressing journalists, Saturday in Gusau, Amb. Adamu Haruna Tsafe, said the group was dismayed by the briefing, which he noted was aimed at attacking the policies and programmes of the state government.
The coalition comprises representatives of AA, NNPP, SDP, ZLP, AAC, LP, YPP and APP political parties.
Tsafe said the gathering did not represent the position of IPAC members in Zamfara.
He added that a petition challenging the legitimacy of the current state leadership of IPAC had already been submitted to the national headquarters of IPAC in Abuja, and the coalition is awaiting a response.
The coalition alleged that the election that produced the present leadership was conducted in an undemocratic manner.
