The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed candidates with unresolved admission offers spanning the 2020 to 2025 academic cycles to either accept or reject them before August 31, 2026, warning that failure to do so could result in forfeiture of the offers.
In a statement posted on its official X handle, the examination body urged affected candidates to review their admission status without delay and take appropriate action ahead of the deadline.
“JAMB has warned candidates with pending previous admission offers to accept/reject them before August 31, 2026, to avoid possible forfeiture.
“Candidates are advised to check their admission status and take action before the deadline,” the statement read.
According to the board, candidates with outstanding offers are required to log into their JAMB profiles and access the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) to ascertain whether an offer is awaiting their response.
Candidates who intend to take up an offer must formally accept it on the platform, while those uninterested in the admission are expected to reject it through the corresponding option.
The CAPS platform remains the primary channel through which candidates track and respond to admission offers extended by tertiary institutions.
The platform enables candidates to monitor the status of their applications and communicate their decision, whether acceptance or rejection, directly to JAMB.
The latest advisory is targeted chiefly at candidates from the 2020 to 2025 admission cycles who may still have offers left unattended on the portal.
JAMB cautioned candidates against waiting until the last minute, urging them to check their profiles early and complete the required action ahead of the August 31 cut-off.
The board noted that candidates who fail to respond within the stipulated timeframe risk losing the opportunities tied to their pending admission offers.
