Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala has reassured fans about his health after revealing that he has been diagnosed with brief, temporary episodes of absence linked to a neurological dysfunction.

The Bayern Munich star addressed supporters personally on Instagram on Tuesday, saying: “First things first, I’m doing well! I’m especially grateful for all your messages and support.”

Musiala explained that the episodes could be behind the worrying moments seen during recent matches, including against Leipzig and in Heidenheim.

“I know that these moments can look scary at first, but for me, they are currently part of my everyday life,” he said.

The 23-year-old added that he is receiving specialist medical care and remains optimistic about his condition.

He said Bayern Munich and his private circle have been supporting him throughout the process.

According to Musiala, there is “no additional health risk” beyond the condition he described.

He also said that, after regular consultation with specialists and receiving clearance from neurological experts, he wanted to continue playing football.

“It was my personal wish to face this challenge and, with the approval of the neurological specialists, continue doing what helps me most in my recovery: simply living my everyday life and continuing to pursue my passion of playing football,” Musiala said.

The Bayern midfielder said he feels positive about his recovery and believes remaining active with his team is helping him.

“Overall, I have a very good feeling, and I’m on a good path.

“What helps me most along the way is continuing to chase victories with my team and with your incredible support,” he said.

Musiala also asked supporters to respect his privacy, saying he wants to keep further details of the matter within his closest circle, Bayern Munich and his medical experts.

“I hope this helps you understand me better,” he said, while thanking fans for their continued support.

PUNCH Online had reported that Musiala was taken off the pitch after collapsing in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, three days after a similar incident in Munich.
