Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, following the governor’s visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu after his re-election.
Sowore reacted in a post on X after Adeleke visited Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja to present his Certificate of Return following his victory in the August 15, 2026, Osun governorship election.
The activist described Tinubu as Adeleke’s “preferred presidential candidate” and linked the governor’s visit to his earlier declaration of support for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential bid.

Sowore also referenced the phrase “agreement is agreement,” which became a subject of political debate following Adeleke’s public endorsement of Tinubu.
In his post, Sowore criticised the relationship between Adeleke and Tinubu, while also accusing the governor of maintaining a political understanding with the President.
He wrote: “Gov. Ademola Adeleke, the man who has his brains beneath his feet, has now gone to visit his preferred presidential candidate, failed Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu.”
Sowore further claimed that “nearly 50 Osun citizens” had been killed in election-related violence and alleged that another person was killed after the election.
The activist linked the alleged death to the political activities surrounding Adeleke and Davido, describing the development as unacceptable.
Adeleke’s visit to Tinubu came after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented the governor with his Certificate of Return following his re-election.
Adeleke secured 511,067 votes in the Osun governorship election to defeat the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes. ADC candidate Najeem Salaam finished third with 17,180 votes.
The governor has previously reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027, although he later clarified that his support was not based on any political agreement with the President.
