A Nigerian female police officer has raised concern over what she described as disturbing discoveries made during a visit to a secondary school in Delta State.

According to the officer, police personnel seized several expensive smartphones, including iPhone 15, iPhone 16 and Samsung devices, after allegedly discovering students watching pornographic content and engaging in sexual activities during school hours.

She further claimed that a male student was found with more than 85 Australian phone numbers on his device, which she alleged were being used for online scam activities.

The officer also said the same phone contained intimate pictures and videos of female students. According to her account, the student allegedly sold some of the content for as much as ₦500,000.

She claimed the student told authorities that the girls had asked him to distribute the material.

The officer expressed deep concern over the alleged behaviour, warning that such activities could have serious consequences for the students, their families and society.

“This is the destruction of this generation,” she said.

The claims have sparked concerns about the growing exposure of young people to pornography, cybercrime and the misuse of smartphones, while also highlighting the need for stronger parental guidance, digital education and safeguarding measures in schools.

The identities of the students and the school involved were not disclosed.
