A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Saidu Ugohoh, has said the composition of the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) for the 2027 election is a sign of the success of the party in the election.

Alhaji Ugohoh, who noted the inclusion of Comrade Fabian Ugochukwu Okoye in the PCC as Director of Civil Societies, said the choice has the potential of placing the opposition in a difficult position in terms of organisation and support.

Okoye is a seasoned civil society activist and Special Adviser to the Kaduna State governor on Research, Documentation and Strategy.

“There might be a few places that require reviews, but areas where you have experts and people with proven integrity, commitment and competence, as it is in the case of the civil societies, I have no doubts that the president has once again demonstrated he has eagle eyes and can spot the best anywhere they operate or reside,” he said.

Ugohoh, who is a former APC governorship aspirant in Kogi State, described Okoye as a mobiliser and committed activist of national and international worldview.

According to him, the civil societies in Nigeria have always played critical roles in shaping public opinion and advancing the course of inclusive democracy.

He said President Tinubu has once again demonstrated his knack for quality and talents, and expressed the confidence that Comrade Okoye would bring his wealth of experience, network and integrity to the table when the campaigns kick start.

“I have worked with him in the National Assembly when we both served as advisers to the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and I can attest to his commitment, competence and network of contacts that shaped the office.

“His delivery and targets have always being Excellency, and you cannot take away his knowledge and composure to deliver at very short notice with nearly zero errors.”

He expressed confidence that the 2027 general elections would be won on the performance indices ranging from rebooting and retooling the economy, infrastructure, as well as sustained fight against insecurity by the Tinubu administration.

Ugohoh pointed out that Nigeria is currently being portrayed in a bad light on the international stage by elements of the opposition and advised proponents of the campaign to always remember that they have a country before politics.

Welcoming constructive criticisms, he called on all stakeholders not to rock the boat in their appetite for power.
