He was arrested in Berwyn more than a month later. A detention hearing is scheduled for August 26 2026.

A suburban Berwyn man is facing felony armed robbery charges after walking into a Wicker Park business with accomplices, pulling out a gun, robbing two people, and striking a woman in the face before fleeing, according to Chicago Police.
What Happened
At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, multiple offenders entered a business in the 1700 block of West North Avenue near North Paulina Street in the Wicker Park neighborhood in the 14th District.
One suspect pulled out a gun. Another suspect struck a 48-year-old woman in the face, cutting her right eye.
The offenders took property and money from the 48-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man at gunpoint before fleeing the scene.
The 48-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for the cut on her right eye. She was reported in good condition.
Arrested More Than a Month Later
Chicago Police arrested Juan Hidalgo, 25, at 9:19 p.m. on August 24, 2026, in the 3400 block of South Harlem Avenue in Berwyn, Illinois.
He was identified as one of the offenders in the July 18 robbery and placed into custody without incident.

The CPD press release describes Hidalgo as one of the offenders, indicating additional suspects may still be sought.
The Charges
Hidalgo faces two felony counts of armed robbery with a firearm in connection with the July 18 incident.
A detention hearing is scheduled for August 26, 2026, at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse at 2600 South California Avenue.
