Premier League clubs have once again flexed their financial muscle during the summer transfer window, with several new arrivals reportedly securing lucrative contracts worth hundreds of thousands of pounds every week.
The latest wage figures show that Manchester City and Arsenal’s new midfield additions sit at the top of the reported salary rankings, while Tottenham Hotspur have several players among the league’s best-paid newcomers.
Reported figures from football salary databases should be treated as estimates, as clubs generally do not publicly disclose individual players’ basic wages and bonus structures. For example, Elliot Anderson is listed by FBref at an estimated £250,000 per week following his move to Manchester City.

Anderson’s arrival at City has been one of the headline moves of the summer, with the midfielder joining as part of the club’s major midfield rebuild. City also recently completed the signing of teenage midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi for a reported €95 million plus add-ons.
Guimarães, meanwhile, joined Arsenal from Newcastle United in a deal reported to be worth £75 million, adding further quality to the reigning Premier League champions’ midfield.
Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as one of the biggest spenders of the window under Roberto
De Zerbi, with Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Mohammed Kudus among the club’s high-profile additions.
Tonali’s transfer from Newcastle was reportedly worth up to £100 million, including an initial £92.5 million fee, making him Tottenham’s record signing.
Spurs’ aggressive recruitment has continued with the club spending more than £300 million during the window. Their spending spree includes major deals for Tonali, Fernandes and Brazilian winger Sávio, as well as several free-agent arrivals.
The summer’s spending has not been restricted to attacking and midfield players.
Ronald Araújo, who joined Liverpool from Barcelona on a season-long loan, is among the prominent defensive arrivals. Liverpool confirmed that the Uruguay international moved to Anfield for the 2026/27 season, with the club taking responsibility for his wages.
The reported salary ranking places Araújo among the better-paid new arrivals, although estimates vary between sources.
The reported figures underline the increasingly expensive nature of competing at the top level of English football. Clubs are not only paying enormous transfer fees but are also committing substantial weekly wages to attract established internationals and emerging stars.
Tottenham’s spending spree has been particularly striking. After finishing 17th last season, Spurs have embarked on a major squad rebuild, with De Zerbi seeking to transform the team’s fortunes through significant investment.
While the exact salaries remain subject to confidentiality and performance-related bonuses, the reported figures demonstrate the enormous financial commitment required to assemble competitive squads in the modern Premier League.
