The Presidency has dismissed reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list for the 2027 election has been withdrawn, insisting that only adjustments will be made where necessary.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday, Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, explained that the list remains valid but will be expanded to include subcommittees and additional names.
“As it is with every other list, there’s room for subcommittees. Those subcommittees have not been formed, and so many other names will come into that subcommittee,” Dare said.
He stressed that the list was not subject to a wholesale review, clarifying: “Not a review, just adjustments where necessary. Review is wholesale, this is not wholesale.”
The APC had earlier rejected claims that the list was withdrawn, reiterating that the structure announced over the weekend stands.
The list named President Tinubu as chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda as vice chairmen, with Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as secretary.
Dare noted that the adjustments would allow more party members and stakeholders to participate in the campaign structure, ensuring inclusivity ahead of the 2027 elections.
