Relationship coach and pastor, Kingsley Okonkwo, has unveiled a Christian matchmaking platform, Mentor To Marry, designed to connect singles seeking intentional, faith-based marriages.
Okonkwo, the lead pastor of David’s Christian Centre, announced the platform in a series of posts on X on Wednesday, revealing that annual membership plans range from N70,000 to N700,000.
The platform describes itself as a guided marriage-preparation and matching community for Christian singles, with mentoring and assessment preceding access to its matchmaking services.
Platform targets serious Christian singles
Promoting the initiative, Okonkwo expressed concern over what he described as the increasing commercialisation of relationships, particularly the difficulties some young men face when seeking genuine partners.
He said the platform was created to provide an avenue for serious Christian singles to meet potential partners while receiving guidance and mentorship throughout the process.
However, Okonkwo clarified that the platform was not intended to portray women as being motivated by financial considerations in relationships.
He stressed that there were many women seeking serious relationships with godly men and urged interested singles to explore the platform.
Membership plans start at N70,000
According to information published by Mentor To Marry, the Regular membership costs N70,000 annually and includes eight weeks of mentoring classes, assessments, surveys, limited profile access, an accountability system and five weekly chats.
The Premium plan costs N350,000 per year and includes the Regular package, as well as unlimited profile browsing, monthly profile recommendations, priority access to coaches, global profiles, 10 weekly chats and private groups.
The VIP membership, which costs N700,000 annually, offers additional services including a dedicated matchmaker and coach, priority access to the platform’s founders, 15 weekly chats, off-platform introductions and profile protection.
Mentoring precedes matchmaking
Mentor To Marry states that members begin with an eight-week mentoring programme involving classes, assessments and guided reflection before recommendations and introductions are made.
The platform says the approach is intended to help participants develop clarity, maturity and accountability before pursuing marriage.
It also emphasises that membership does not guarantee a match, mutual interest or marriage.
The service is operated by Love, Dating and Marriage Ministries, described as a non-profit organisation registered in Nigeria.
Platform sets eligibility rules
Mentor To Marry is targeted at Christians aged 25 and above. Members must identify as Christians and agree to the platform’s stated principles concerning relationships and marriage.
Participants must also be unmarried, divorced or widowed to access the matching services and are required to provide truthful information about their identity and marital status.
The platform says its matching process is based on Christian values, accountability, relationship education and marriage preparation rather than casual dating.
It also prohibits sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, fraud, catfishing, sexually explicit content and financial exploitation.
Okonkwo, wife listed among founders
Kingsley Okonkwo and his wife, Mildred Okonkwo, are listed among the founders of the platform, with their pastoral and marriage mentoring experience forming part of its stated foundation.
The platform says its objective is not simply to help singles meet potential partners but to help them become prepared for the kind of marriage they desire.
For those who are interested in marriage but are not ready to pay for membership, Mentor To Marry also provides a free singles community.
The initiative adds another faith-based option to the growing number of platforms seeking to help singles navigate relationships, with a particular focus on preparation, compatibility and long-term marriage.
