The Kaduna state Police Command has dismantled two suspected bandits hideouts during a clearance operation in Makarfi Local Government Area of the state.

The operation, conducted on Saturday in collaboration with the Kaduna State Vigilance Service, followed credible intelligence provided by members of the communities.

In a statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the operation targeted suspected bandit enclaves around Durum and Danguzuri general areas, extending to the boundary with Kano state.

Hassan said operatives raided the areas at about 8am and dismantled two structures identified as hideouts used by bandits to hold abducted victims.

The structures were located at Rugar Mijin Goggo and Unguwar Maryamu in Danguzuri.

He said “joint security patrols were still ongoing in the area,” adding that normalcy had been restored and the general area remained calm.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the communities for their cooperation and the security personnel involved in the operation.

He reaffirmed the Command’s resolve to sustain its offensive against banditry and other forms of criminality across the state.

The Command also appealed to members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.
