Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, was disqualified from his celebrity boxing rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha after walking out of the ring on Friday.

The bout, held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, ended abruptly during the opening round.

Portable appeared to be dominating the fight before the contest degenerated into a wrestling-style scuffle.

The referee struggled to separate both fighters as security personnel and bodyguards entered the ring to restore order.

Portable subsequently stormed out before officials could restart the contest, drawing boos from spectators at the venue.

Although the singer was later persuaded to return, officials disqualified him and declared Okocha the winner.

The bout, tagged “Unfinished Business,” was organised to settle the controversy surrounding their first encounter.

Portable won the previous fight, but Okocha repeatedly claimed the result was unfair and demanded a rematch.

Before Friday’s contest, Portable had boasted during the final weigh-in that he remained the better fighter.

Speaking backstage while carrying his son, the singer said he was unhappy but hoped God would bring happiness to him and his family.

“I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family,” he said.

The disqualification handed Okocha victory and ended Portable’s attempt to secure a second consecutive win over the actor.
