Atiku and Aregbesola arrived at the campaign venue alongside Salaam and other party stalwarts at about 3:30 p.m., accompanied by supporters who escorted their convoy from Ilesa.

The rally came amid speculation that the ADC could enter into an alliance with another political party before the August 15 election.

Aregbesola, however, dismissed the rumours, declaring that the ADC was going into the election on its own and was confident of victory.

The former Osun State governor, who thrilled supporters with different Yoruba songs after mounting the podium, urged party members not to be distracted by reports of a possible alliance.

“Don’t mind rumours that our party has entered into an alliance with another party for the Osun election on Saturday. We are not working with anyone,” Aregbesola said.

“We have campaigned vigorously across the State, and we will win the governorship election.”

Aregbesola’s declaration comes as political activities intensify across Osun ahead of Saturday’s governorship poll, with the ADC seeking to wrest control of the state through Salaam.

Salaam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, is flying the ADC flag in the election.

Atiku’s presence at the Osogbo rally also added national weight to the party’s final push for votes as campaigning enters its crucial closing days.

As of the time the initial report was filed, Atiku and Salaam had yet to address the gathering.
