
AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation says it has awarded outstanding civil servants for their contributions to public service through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund.
The foundation disclosed this in a statement issued by the Deputy Director of Communications, Chioma Bright-Uhara, on in Abuja.
She added that it the foundation is a public sector-focused philanthropic organisation founded by Aigboje and Ofovwe Aig-Imoukhuede.
According to her, the foundation presented the awards during the 2026 Civil Service Week in Abuja, marking the fifth anniversary of the endowment fund established in 2022 in memory of late Pastor Emily Aig-Imoukhuede.
She said that the awards recognised exceptional civil servants whose dedication, professionalism and impact had contributed to strengthening public service delivery across Nigeria.
Bright-Uhara also said that the honourees were recognised under two categories: the Presidential Civil Service Merit Award for N500,000 and the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation EPIC Award for N250,000.
She said that the awards were designed to recognise public servants who exemplify excellence, accountability, professionalism and commitment to service.
According to her, since its inception, the fund has awarded more than N60 million to civil servants across 50 Ministries, Departments and Agencies for outstanding service and contributions to public sector excellence.
She said that the endowment fund was one of several initiatives through which the foundation supported the development of high-performing public sector leaders and institutions.
She said that one of the recipients, Anthony Ogwo, was an alumnus of the Aig-Imoukhuede Public Leaders Programme (PLP), Cohort Five and that his recognition reflected the foundation’s commitment to developing the capacity of public servants to provide exceptional leadership across public service.
The statement said that the Director of Programmes at the foundation, Chioma Njoku, while speaking at the Civil Service Week Award said recognising excellence was important to strengthening public institutions.
Njoku said public servants played a vital role in shaping the quality of governance and improving outcomes for citizens.
“Through the Emily Aig-Imoukhuede Memorial Endowment Fund, we celebrate individuals whose commitment to excellence, integrity and service sets a standard for others and reinforces the values that underpin an effective and citizen-centred public service,” she said.
Njoku said the foundation remained committed to supporting initiatives that encouraged professionalism, recognised excellence and contributed to the continuous improvement of Nigeria’s public service.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the foundation works to transform public service delivery across Africa by supporting reform initiatives through financing, strategic advisory services, and capacity building programmes, while collaborating with affiliate organisations to drive sustainable institutional change.(NAN)
