Nigerian comedian I Go Save has called on the Federal Government to suspend roadworthiness requirements for vehicles in Southern Nigeria during routine checks, arguing that motorists are being held to standards that the country’s roads often fail to meet.

Reacting to the deteriorating condition of roads across parts of Southern Nigeria, the comedian questioned how taxpayers’ vehicles could be expected to remain “roadworthy” when many of the roads they travel on are in poor condition.

“How can taxpayers’ cars be ‘roadworthy’ and most roads are not worthy of the cars?” I Go Save asked.

He urged the government to declare a state of emergency on roads across Southern Nigeria, stressing the need for urgent intervention to address deteriorating road infrastructure.
