Kira Taiwo, one of the daughters of late veteran Yoruba actor,  Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has shared an emotional conversation she had with her father weeks before his death.

Kira shared the exchange on her Instagram Story on Monday, a day after the death of the veteran actor, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 66.

The conversation, dated July 26, showed Ogogo reassuring his daughter while encouraging her to remain strong amid concerns over his health.

In the emotional exchange, the actor told Kira that seeing her and her sisters smile gave him strength, while urging her not to cry.

“How are you? I heard you are crying. Seeing you and your sisters smile is making me strong. If you cry, it will make me sad, and I will start to think,” Ogogo wrote.

The actor, who was a Muslim, also encouraged his daughter to put her trust in Allah and assured her that he was strong.

“Be strong. I am strong. Nothing is going to happen to me, insha Allah. If you do, then don’t cry, my princess,” he told her.

Responding to her father, Kira reassured him that she was not crying and expressed her faith in Allah.

“Daddy, I’m not crying oo… don’t mind Haleemah. I trust in Allah, sir. I love you very much,” she wrote.

Ogogo replied, “Love u too, my princess.”

The emotional exchange has taken on added significance following the actor’s death, coming weeks after his family disclosed the seriousness of his health condition.

Kira and her sister, Lima Taiwo, had earlier made emotional appeals for assistance after Ogogo’s condition deteriorated.

Lima disclosed that the family only became aware of the seriousness of their father’s illness about three weeks before his death, explaining that his physical appearance had initially not suggested that he was seriously ill.

Kira had also revealed that Ogogo was battling stage-four cancer and that the hospital where he was receiving treatment could no longer administer chemotherapy, prompting the family to seek alternative medical options.

Ogogo died at about 3pm on Sunday, according to a burial announcement shared by his colleague and veteran actor Jide Kosoko.

The veteran actor is expected to be buried in his hometown, Ilaro, Ogun State, according to Islamic rites.

A lying-in-state ceremony is scheduled for 11am at the Pavilion in Ilaro, while the Ilaro Muslim Community announced that the burial prayer will take place at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground at 10am.

Ogogo was a prominent figure in the Yoruba film industry, with a career spanning several decades as an actor, filmmaker and director.
