Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial Distric and the Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the death of veteran Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

Adeola, in a condolence message jointly signed with his wife, Mrs Temitope Adeola, said he received the news of Ogogo’s death with profound sadness, particularly after the actor’s courageous battle with illness and the collective prayers and hope for his recovery.

He described his passing as a painful and irreplaceable loss to his family, Ilaro, Ogun West and the Nigerian entertainment industry.

The senator recalled that he remained closely involved with Ogogo and his family throughout the period of his sickness and treatment, supporting efforts to secure the necessary medical care and doing everything possible to aid his recovery.

According to him, despite the support, treatment and prayers offered during the difficult period, Ogogo eventually succumbed to the illness, with Adeola submitting to the will of Almighty God.

“During those difficult moments, we stood closely with him and his family, supporting his treatment and doing everything humanly possible to ensure that he received the necessary medical care,” Adeola said.

He added that there had been a strong hope that the veteran actor would overcome the illness and return to his family, friends and millions of admirers who cherished his work.

“Sadly, despite all efforts, it has pleased Almighty God to call him home. Indeed, God knows best,” he said.

Adeola described Taiwo Hassan as more than an accomplished veteran of the entertainment industry, stressing that the late actor was a dear brother and a proud son of Ilaro and Ogun West.

He said Ogogo’s remarkable career brought joy to generations of Nigerians and contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Nigerian film industry.

The senator also noted that the actor’s talent, humility and enduring body of work would ensure that his legacy remained alive long after his death.

Adeola extended his condolences to Ogogo’s wife, children and entire family, as well as the people of Ilaro and Yewaland, his colleagues and associates in the entertainment industry and everyone who was touched by his life and career.

He prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the late actor’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, friends and all those mourning him the strength to bear the loss.
